ACC Quarterfinals Friday

A couple of months ago, I took in the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals Friday in Greensboro – both the afternoon and evening sessions. Lots of basketball – four full games – starting at noon and ending around midnight. Throw in the travel sandwich around the games and that was a pretty long day for Your Faithful Servant.

Before all of this conference realignment garbage had broken out, my college hoops bucket list included goals of attending an ACC Quarterfinals Friday in Greensboro and a Big East Championship at MSG on Saturday night. The Big East of course imploded, but I can at least scratch that first one off. Just in time too as the ACC is now moving their final up to Saturday night which backs up everything a day. Sigh – another set of traditions is wiped out due to the power of television markets and the greed of conference administrators.

Our tickets for both the afternoon sessions were in the corners in the upper deck (courtesy of son Chris who was able to acquire the ducks via the magic of Stubhub - 60 clams per session). Chris also was the photographer for both sessions, so these shots are all courtesy of him using my Canon. I was too busy enjoying the hoops.
